# FreightMath Data

> How to use FreightMath data enrichment to inform your pricing decisions

FreightMath is a data enrichment layer built into BidRight. It adds cost context and market context to each lane so you can make more informed pricing decisions without leaving the bid.

FreightMath data appears in the Bid Detail view alongside the standard lane fields.

## FreightMath fields

| Field                | Description                                                           |
| -------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| OR (Operating Ratio) | Cost ratio for the lane — values below 1.0 indicate a profitable lane |
| Historical Data | Past rates and volumes for similar lanes |
| FM Operation | FreightMath-suggested operation type for the lane |
| Bill To | Who is billed for the shipment |

## How to read Operating Ratio

Operating Ratio (OR) tells you whether a lane is profitable at the current rate.

* **OR \< 1.0** — the lane is profitable at the current rate
* **OR > 1.0** — the lane is operating at a loss at the current rate

Use OR to quickly identify lanes where the current rate doesn't cover costs, and adjust your pricing accordingly.

For Historical vs Modeled OR and how Core, Inbound, and Outbound combine into **FM OR**, see [FreightMath OR (Operating Ratio)](/freightmath/operating-ratio).

<Info>
  Historical data shows trends over time. Use it to spot lanes with rising volumes or changing rate patterns — both signals that a lane may warrant closer attention during pricing review.
