Fuel surcharge (FSC) is a variable component added on top of the linehaul rate. Because FSC fluctuates with fuel prices, BidRight separates it from the base rate so you can price the linehaul cleanly and apply FSC independently. This separation prevents double-counting and makes it easier to update your FSC method without repricing the entire bid.

FSC options

BidRight gives you three ways to handle fuel surcharge on a bid. Standard FSC table — BidRight applies its built-in FSC schedule to the linehaul rate. Use this when you don’t have a customer-specific FSC agreement. Customer’s FSC table — BidRight uses the FSC schedule from the customer’s bid file. Use this when the customer has a negotiated FSC structure they require you to follow. All-in pricing — FSC is included in your S-RPM. BidRight does not apply a separate FSC line. Use this when the customer wants a flat, all-inclusive rate.
All-in pricing means your S-RPM already includes fuel. Do not apply a separate FSC line.
A common mistake is double-counting FSC by including fuel in your S-RPM and also applying a separate FSC line. Check your FSC setting before exporting to make sure fuel is only accounted for once.
